Dancing with the Stars: I Was Expecting Oh No and I Got Ole Edition

5 1/2 couples, a team dance, and more injuries - must be Monday night!

Gilles and Cheryl: Gilles has a shoulder injury, which I think was really an excuse to show him with his shirt off again. Not that anyone's complaining. And Cheryl took quite a few dives in rehearsal but thankfully emerged unscathed here. This dance looked really manic ... and sloppy. Part of that is the style of the lindy hop, but this seemed really uncomfortable and awkward at times. And there was a whole part at the end where Cheryl was full-on potty squatting for several seconds before Gilles jumped over her .... no, just no. But surprise surprise the judges love it because - this season is rigged. Moving on!

Lil Kim and Derek: Lil Kim was kind of made for the paso. It was all snarls and drama, as a good paso should be ... and what a lovely costume. It wasn't the classic Mel B and Maks paso, but it was one of Lil Kim and Derek's best dances to date. Derek has really turned out some great choreography this season too.

Chuck and Julianne: Ah, Chuck has gone for the silken pajamas look again. This was a solid, clean, routine - it's kind of great how he's chosen this point to start being a good dancer. He has that Ian Ziering wooden-dorky likeability factor - I think they're becoming real contenders now.

Shawn and Mark: It's kind of absurd that Shawn got her first ten only last week. And awww Mark's mom - can she be on the show next season, pretty please? Love her and her adorable accent. As much as I love these guys, I did not love this dance. It was kind of ... boring? Shawn's usual spark was missing, and Mark's goofy hamming actually made Shawn look like she wasn't being energetic enough. I thought the scores were kind of high, but I love these two so I'm noot complaining.

Tony and ...... no Melissa: Melissa is out with a rib injury (is anyone else seeing a theme this season?) so the judges must make their decision on the rehearsal footage - which honestly, is kind of stupid. These two marked the dance, which isn't the same as dancing the dance, so it is really unfortunate that this is what we're going on. I do like Tony and Melissa, and I hope they can make it back next week.

Ty and Chelsie: Ahaha, Chelsie made Ty get a spray tan. And it seemed to pay off - Ty was really going for it out there. Oh dear, Carrie Ann has become a scream-giggling fool. Len takes grumpy pills and tells Ty it's time to go home, which I disagree with. Bruno takes the opportunity to mediate the discussion by swiveling his hips (as he does). Whatever, I adore this couple.

Team Mambo: Team Mambo is down a woman, and is comprised of the "cute" couples (minus Ty). Lacey fills in for Melissa - and I give her a huge amount of credit for picking up this routine in less than an hour. The dance itself was pretty good - everyone was together, the solo sections were solid (although it seemed like Shawn wasn't dancing full out), and OMG that ending. Let's just say that was a DWTS first. Kudos to Chuck for being that secure in his manhood. Seriously - oh.my.god. Carrie Ann decides to rain all over the sparkle leotard parade, but whatever - I think this is going to go over really well with the at-home audience.

Team Tango: Shocking, they put Gilles and Lil Kim in the tango group. Stacking the deck much? Haha, Lil Kim actually said "I can't work like this" in rehearsals. Ah, "stars." This dance wasn't as technically solid as Team Mambo's (Lil Kim and Ty both had some oopsies), but no surprise, the judges love them. A 10? No. FAIL.

So who is going home? I'm thinking maybe Melissa/Tony (sad but true) or Ty/Chelsie.
