Disney Cruise Line recently released this promotional video for the Disney Dream, the new cruise ship that will set sail next year. Check out all the cool:
Let's talk cruises: I've never been on one, mostly because I can't imagine spending a day doing nothing on a boat in the middle of the ocean. I'm more of what you would call an "active vacationer." And if I was going to go on a cruise, as much as I love Disney, I'm not sure my sanity could handle being on a Disney Cruise. Being stuck in the middle of the ocean is hard enough, being stuck in the middle of the ocean surrounded by the same group of shrieking children ... well, let's just say I would quickly turn into this:
But all that aside, the Disney Dream looks pretty amazing. Those portholes (Hi Peach!), those adorable Mickey-backed chairs, those lounges, that staircase where I could re-enact scenes from Titanic! Plus, I totally want to hang out in Andy's Room. So maybe (maaaaybe) I can be persuaded otherwise. Because it looks like a really fun time.
Have you ever been on a Disney Cruise? Was it amazing or no? Talk me into going, talk me out of going - I'd love to get your feedback!

i've been on a few cruises - all great experiences, but I can understand the cabin fever thing. Days at Sea can get tough, but you will undoubtedly find things to do: read a book on deck, go to the gym/spa, casino, eat, swim, participate in trivia contests or other activities/shows (bingo!), eat more, nap, etc. Before you know it, it's time for dinner! Disney cruises are pretty much the same (minus the casino) and you really don't see many kids since they have their own deck and there are plenty of adults only areas! Good times!
I'm with you - not a big fan of being trapped on a boat like that. Although the Disney Dream is tempting me just for that water coaster/slide alone. Disney always manages to find a way to draw me in. :)
There is PLENTY to do on a cruise! I doubt you'd ever get bored. In fact, you may find that you didn't have ENOUGH time to do what you wanted. Plus the kids are mostly either by the kid or family pool or in the kid's clubs, so as long as you stay away from those areas, you'd be all good!
I'm totally an active vacationer.. On our honeymoon to a Sandals resort in St. Lucia, I made my husband go on several excursions though it seems that everyone else I know just wants to sit and read..
I think the trick to the cruise - have a balcony. We went on one in 2008 and had our own balcony. I was afraid of claustrophobia and that totally solved that.. plus there really is a TON to do on board.. I definitely want to go disney-style one day..
